Post Coping files from VCD's ?

    HI friends !

How to copy the files from Video CD's. from /media/new/mpegav/avseq01.dat , it's in .dat file format. How to convert it to video format. well ! i can watch the movie directly in Movie player or VLC, but not able to copy or convert it to other file format in-order to copy it to the hard disk. any vcd ripper/converter available which grabs or converts the file avseq01.dat (which is 600mb) into .avi, mpeg or xvd,divx....any idea

    thanks !

These files are actually in mpeg1 format (for regular VCD, mpeg2 for SVCD). So, just change the extention from .dat to .mpg.
Sometimes, real fast is almost as good as real time.
