Unable to login in ubuntu
Hello,
I recently installed ubuntu 10.10 on my machine. I set it up such that no password is required on startup. It worked all great untill I installed jdk following instructions on the first post that came when I googled 'Install jdk on linux'. I made changes to my /etc/profile file and logged out. While trying to login it did does not like my password, so essentially I am unable to log back into ubuntu.. I dont have any other user that I can log in as. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Hiral

Just boot up in Recovery Mode and execute passwd command to set new password.
It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.
