[SOLVED] How do I uninstall Ubuntu on a computer with Windows 98?

I admit it, Ubuntu is a good system, but I only installed it onto a Windows 98 because I wanted it to connect with a newer computer. It didn't work, and now I have to stand by so I can select my version. How can I remove Ubuntu now?

All you need to do is delete the Linux partitions and restore the Windows 98 bootloader to your master boot record. Then you can then do whatever you want with the unallocated space that was previously holding Linux.

I highly recommend the Parted Magic LiveCD for manipulating partitions whether you run Windows or Linux.

If I'm not mistaken, you can run gparted (for working with partitions) from your Ubuntu liveCD, as well. Perhaps someone will throw in a correction if that's not the case.

I don't think ubuntu was a very good choice for a windows 98 era PC, your machine likely didn't meet the minimum requirements which is why your experience was so poor

windows partitions will be vfat/fat16/fat32 from windows 98, i don't think NTFS was around

in gparted the partitions should say that they are linux partitions
