Out of the Industry since '77. Sorta, as an old main framer, I never really considered Desktops computers. I changed my mind on that in the early 90's when exposed to Geoworks on a 386. I still tend to think of them as toys. Powerful little toys but toys never the less. Maybe because they are fun?
They are perfect for surfin and playing games. I got started on Ubuntu last Oct. when my Ex-brother in law picked up a Dell box off the curb. It had a P4 in it but the HD had a massive viral infection called Vista. So we rebuilt it, he installed Ubuntu and I'm slowly figuring out how to work it.
