10.4 on-screen keyboard
So I have an old laptop that I've installed ubuntu 10.4 on, and after doing some major surgery on it (including removing the broken screen), I realize that the piece of plastic that holds the keyboard cord to the motherboard broke, so now I need an on-screen keyboard (I'm to cheap to go buy a $15 USB keyboard).
Anyways, now for the actual problem
I boot up, I enable the onscreen keyboard and log in, then it disappears. After digging around in the setting for a bit, I realize that I have to enable accessibility tools, so I do. It makes me log out and log back in, so I do. The onscreen keyboard still doesn't work. Lastly, on top of all of that, the laptop overheats because I forgot to plug in the fan, which is why I'm asking you guys for help as opposed to figuring it out myself.
Thanks in advance for the help.
