installing russian keyboard
I have switched from Windows to Linux, since Zver was unstable and was getting viruses all the time (and according to thepiratebay forums, it has trojans in systems files).
So, I have switched to Linux Ubuntu. It seems to be better then Windows and I have been using it for over 2 weeks now, yet I still can't determine how to install a russian keyboard.
I did went to Language Support and installed russian, yet after I press escape button instead of staring writing russian, the system starts thinking that I'm writing russian words in english letters and tries to translate them into russian letters, which is really unconvinient.

Check the link below. It gives specific steps for Ubuntu and Russian keyboard. It is not dated and I don't know if it is for the same version of Ubuntu. You could read through it and see if you have the options referred to.
I googled Ubuntu Russian keyboard and got quite a few links. Maybe one of them will work if the above doesn't.

I'm sorry for wasting your time to write this, since I already figured out the problem couple of hours ago. Apperently it was because I was mislead, since when I was asking at some forum how to write in russian, people were too proud/lazy to respond that they don't know the answer, so they told me how to translate text while writing a message. Yet they said something like "press an ESC button" and they didn't say that they meant a button on the site, so I thought they meant the escape button on keyboard and it actually worked (apperently escape button does the same thing, that what an ESC button on their site does), so I was wondering how come it only translates russian typed in english letters.
Apperently all I had to do after installing Russian in Administrarion > Language Support was to go to Preferences > Keyboard Input Methods and to set it up properly, so after I did so, everything seems to work fine.
I guess I just have to thank people who misled me by their ingorance for the past 7 days

Glad you got it working. Just noticed I forgot to post the link in my last post.
