Ubuntu 11.10 bugs after updates

Once more, my system seems to have picked up some bugs after installing the recommended Ubuntu updates. My Open Office files take a long time to open in spite of the speed-up tweaks and the system is generally sluggish.

I ran a system check and received failure reports on nautilus_folder_create, nautilus_folder_copy, nautilus_folder_move, nautilus_file_create, nautilus_file_copy, nautilus_file_move, nautilus_file_delete, applications-firefox-java and hibernate_once.

When I try to run launchpad login, the whole system freezes. The only way I can get back is to shut down power and restart.

Can anyone please help?

is the version a typo? even if 11.10 already had an alpha out, I wouldn't expect it to work properly at all
