    how to make a debian package?

    I have made a few programs, and I want to make them debian packages so I can distribute them, but the problem is that most tutorials on how to make a Debian package assume that you are not the person who started the source code, and that there are already things set up in the source code that will help you. can anyone give me a link to a tutorial that explains how to make debian packages from the ground up

    I've not published any programs, but there are some here that have contributed to SourceForge or FreshMeat, among others. Perhaps they'll chime in.
