    Help, lubuntu usb stick

    Hi

I have installed Lubuntu on an USB stick with Usbinstaller, i also created a 2 GB partition on the usb stick.

Lubuntu wont start cause i got this error "Buffer I/O error on device fd0, logical block0" so I researched and found out that i should boot using this command
"live floppy.blacklist=yes" and then it works.

But, now to the problem, I want to edit grub and add floppy.blacklist=yes to grub so the change is permanent.

But I cant save the file, it wont let me. It comes up "Can't open file to write"

    What do I do wrong?

Iam a complete newcomer to linux so I have only basic skills.

    Another questions

How do I login as root? Whats command to change user?

How do I install applications to the partitioned 2GB space I created?

And most important, I changed background and settings but when I boot again its not saved. How do I make it so it saves every change I make on the USB-stick?

    Thanks in advance.
