    Did you uninstall

    gnome-terminal, or run (gexec)?

    First do

    Code:
    sudo apt-get update
    If gnome terminal is uninstalled

    Code:
    sudo apt-get install gnome-terminal
    If run is uninstalled

    Code:
    sudo apt-get install gexec

Try this: Find where the executable is located, then middle-click and drag to the desktop

I'm pretty sure he's saying that he deleted the launcher, not the app.

Thanks a lot for your solutions. Terminal still installed but I do not how to open without a launcher icon.
I am not so familiar with Ubuntu for all my life I was a Windows guy.

(on desktop) alt-click --> select create new launcher

    in the 'command' field enter:

    Code:
      /usr/bin/gnome-terminal
drag launcher to top or bottom bar or unity panel if so desired.
