Wireless card help, urgent! Please help

I just purchased an HP Pavilion p6710f desktop with an ralink wireless n card, and 11.04 won't recognize it in 'Additional Drivers'. I can't get it to an ethernet cable, and then check for more additional drivers (did this on an old laptop), so what can I do??
Need this for school, and I do youtube screencasts. Thanks in advance!

Well, I'm running a version of RHEL 6 (2.6.32 kernel) and I find a bunch of Ralink drivers in the kernel. Is this a PCI card, or a USB dongle? Do you know what model it is (2500, 2800)? The lspci or lsusb (depending upon whether it is a PCI or USB device) will tell us what the model is as well as other useful information.

FWIW, I NEVER install a system without a cabled network connection. WiFi is still one of the biggest issues with Linux systems, and it is 100% due to the manufacturers not providing the community with the information or support needed to build open source drivers. In any case, with a cabled connection, you can access the system repositories where you can access tools and drivers that are not on the installation media.

It is a internal PCI card that is found by using things like 'lspci'. If I use the Additional Drivers prompt, will it have anything? Though, if there are any USB dongles you know of that work out of the box, I'd be able to to either. Thank you, and sorry for the late reply!

I had the same problem with my laptop when I went from Ubuntu 9.04 to 10.10 and later. I found the needed drivers under the Additional Drivers list, so try that first/next.

Back again. I'm currently on kubuntu 11.04 with the 2.6.38-8 kernel and tried the Additional Drivers prompt while connected to high speed ethernet and it didn't discover it. I went on to the 'ndiswrapper' site, only to realize it doesn't support ralink. I did a 'lspci', and I did find it in there. Here's what it looks like:

It's the second to the bottom. Anything I can do? I can only be connected to this ethernet for about another day. And thank you for the help!
