Question How to change resolution under install/boot? (SOLVED)

    Hi,

For a few months ago i tried to instal ubuntu on my HP Pavilion dv6500 laptop with AMD cpu. The laptop is probably around 4-5 years old.

I burned an iso to disk, booted, and everything was fine, until i got into the "installation", when the mouse pointer and the pink background appered.

Then the resolution is wrong, so the whole screen/picture is shifted, so i see the left half in the right side, and right side in the left side, and the mouse pointer doesent hit where im pressing if you understand what i mean.

I also downloaded linux mint 11 but the same happends there. And the whole screen is full of horizontal stripes..

Here is a picture (Remember to delete the space between : and // since im new and not allowed to post links, and the picture uploder gave me an error ) :

    Anyone know whats wrong?

    EDIT:
I found out how to do this.
When the dvd is booting, and the first black "dos" screen, where you have a dot in the upper left corner, then you press TAB og E, im pressing then once each.
Then you get a menu to choose some boot options, then you press TAB to get the consol line in the bottom of the screen, and you add a "space" and then you write "nomodeset" and hit enter. Then it should come some other DOS text and it should work. Worked for me!
