Directing RAM to specific applications?
I am running a windows game on Ubuntu through Wine, but it is running slowly. My computer is only a year and a half old, and it has 4 GB's of RAM. Is Wine not receiving enough of the memory? If so, can I direct a larger amount of my ram to the program?

Linux will give your application (wine + executable) as much memory as it needs, or that the system has, including virtual memory. Visit the WineHQ - Run Windows applications on Linux, BSD, Solaris and Mac OS X web site for information on how to configure wine to play various games. Some do well, others not so.
Sometimes, real fast is almost as good as real time.
