    Dual booting

    I'm not shure if this is the right Forum, sorry if it isn't.
    I dual boot(useing both windows 7 and ubuntu 11.04).

    1. Where do i find my documents from Windows when in Ubuntu vice versa?

    2. is there a way to quickly transfer bookmarks, saved passwords etc. from windows to ubuntu?

    Click the Places tab on the Ubuntu Desktop. It should open your file manager. There should be a list on the left side of the window where you can search for windows. Also, navigate to the /media directory. Might be there. If you find nothing, you will need to create a mount point for windows and mount the partitiion(s). If you want them available on boot, you will need an entry in the /etc/fstab file for windows.

    I don't believe windows natively has the capacity to view Linux files and you will have to get third party software to do that. Not sure if that is still true, maybe someone more up to date on windows can post on that.

    If you want specific steps on viewing windows from Ubuntu, open a terminal from the Applications tab and post your partition information with this command: sudo fdisk -l(lower case Letter L in the command.

    I read a few of the results from this Google search... something in there should be of use. I'm not using Windows, so I can't comment on any of them, personally.

    Downloaded one called explore2fs worked fine.
