Poor video quality with Linux
I am experimenting with linux (UBUNTU 11.04).
When I run MLB.tv with the Windows side of the PC the video quality is very good. When I run it on the linux side the picture quality is poor.
Is there a better Flash player that I should be using on the linux side?:

Hello and Welcome.
It could be the drivers for your video card. Did you install them yourself or did they get automagically installed?I do not respond to private messages asking for Linux help, Please keep it on the forums only.

Every now and then I have poor colors on kubuntu 11.04 because "Desktop Effects" are disabled and all I do is enable them and the picture is perfect again.
The exact location on Ubuntu will probably differ in detail, but you should probably be able to find it with these directions:
K => Settings => Desktop Effects => Resume Desktop Effects.
In the advanced tab I've selected: Disable functionality checks.
Hope this helps.

use auto ubuntu recommend drivers
Use Ubuntu auto recommend drivers and also you can see what Ubuntu update drivers you need to install for video card or what options you have installed in your pc,laptop and netbook for drivers. best if hurry for a game link for ask on YouTube.com and see Ubuntu configurations YouTube.com all ready have for following instructions. mmm... MLB.tv have media copyrights and you need pay annual season like NBA.tv and maybe have instructions of how play video but i'm no sure for Linux what most are free so like a example: follow websites like rojadirecta.es with a professionalism schedule to click on and choose links with auto stream video in it. not good all the time for best video stream but can help for don't loose a game. don't go to rojadirecta.com or rojadirecta.org maybe USA FBI laws with MLB don't accept it because it from another country and veetle.com to easy following how install veetle player for both windows and linux if someone marvelous give a tv game. In short, don't see the game and wait if someone marvelous edit a game online at thepiratebay.com or extratorrent.com for download and use torrent client download like utorrent and see it like avi format movie game for have it and save it at home.

Hey DTConnor. I too can relate to this situation! I use MLB.TV too. For the past few weeks, I have been getting a blurry picture that cuts in and out. I installed the correct graphics drivers for my Nvidia today and MLB streams flawlessly in HD quality.
You're also going to want to run a check on your cable modem. Go to "192.168.100.1" in your web browser and look at the signal numbers. What is your Downstream "Signal To Noise Ratio" & "Power Level" and your Upstream "Power Level?" Give us your numbers..
You're also going to want to check to make sure your graphics cards drivers are properly installed in Unbuntu..
Let's get this problem fixed!
