How would I install a windows xp partition?
I have straight up ubuntu 10.04 on my laptop but want to dual boot with windows xp (for games) but can't figure out how to go about this. I have found a ton of guides about installing ubuntu from windows but near nothing on installing windows from ubuntu - guess there's not alot of demand... I'm afraid to go into this trial and error style for fear of losing everything I have in ubuntu.

Hello and welcome aboard!

You'll need some unallocated space on your hard disk in order to create a new partition for WinXP. Here's a HowTo with the steps that you can follow to setup a dualboot system whether installing Windows before, or after Ubuntu:

Installing Windows after Linux is certainly the harder way to do it, but it can be done.
Good luck with it.oz
