32bit or 64bit
Hi Everybody,
I am set to download Ubuntu to install on my laptop to run along side Windows 7.
My computer has a 64bit operating system so do I download the 64bit Ubuntu or the 32bit recommended on the download site?
Cheers AndreNZ

Hello and welcome aboard!

You computer should be able to run either one, but if you have 4 GB or more of RAM, I'd definitely go with the 64-bit version.oz

keep in mind that 32 bit is going to be a little easier in some areas to deal with like in web browser, java plugins and flash verses 64 bit, there will be no real advantage especially if your just getting into linux go with the 32 bit to start .
