SOLVED: Sharing a HD through the network

so i got a torrent box which i mounted 1.5 Tera to
    Code:
    /media/new volume
    shared it

when i map it as a network drive on my win7
when i try to access it i get "network access denied"

Is this because i'm trying to share a folder in the filesystem?

I have also shared /home/username/download folder and it works fine.

    ###what i have tried###
i tried mounting the 1.5TB to /home/donald/data but hten it came up with a error and told me to uncomment this in the smb.conf "usershare owner only = False"

i did this but im still cant access the hd.

actually i fixed it by mounting it to home directory and then opening the
smb.conf and sharing the /home directory and disabling read only.
