I want to enlarge my ubuntu partition but I gparted tools are unavailable. What do I have to do to make them work?

It's best and easiest to use gparted from a liveCD such as the Parted Magic LiveCD because you can't use gparted on mounted partitions. You can also use it from your Ubuntu liveCD if you still have that available.
Once you've opened gparted, there are several different ways to manipulate the partitions, but you must have unallocated space adjacent to any partition that you want to expand. Shrinking partitions will create unallocated space next to the partition being shrunk.oz

Thanks for the link Ozar, but i've already re-sized it from 29.78GiB to 52.34GiB.
I tried to make it 100GiB but the disk timed out on me and i had to do something smaller.
I only had 1.83GiB unused and I think that is why my audacity files were lost.
