    10.04 installation problem

    Hi, I just tried to install Ubuntu 10.04 from a live CD onto my HP dv9843 machine. This is an XP Pro box & I want to use it as a dual boot machine, in order to become more familiar with Linux.
    After the installation, I was prompted to reboot. When I did, my machine locked up with a screen covered with lines of text, the last line is this

    [1919.267624]end_request: I/O error, dev sr0, sector 536480

    Can anyone help me with this?

    Well, it seems that all I had to do was press the enter button. Problem solved
