Wireless activation issue on FS Li - 2727 running Ubuntu 11.04 natty
Having major issue with turning on my wireless card on Ubuntu 11.04 Maverick Meerkat. To turn on the wireless on windows I use Fn + F1 but this fails to work on Maverick Meerkat. I have tried basically all the threads on basically any Linux/Ubuntu forum one thing to note is that they all applied to previous versions of Ubuntu, I tried them on the 11.04 version and they did not work. I have also tried the various drivers or lack of drivers that Fujitsu Siemens (FS) provide on their websites which also fail to do anything. I also tried a hardware hack which involved covering up a specific pin with a piece of sellotape which also didn't work. I think the issue may lie within the fact that when I press Fn +F1 on WINDOWS a launch manger comes up and gives me an option on what I would like to activate e.g Wlan or Bluetooth etc. Ubuntu does not come up with this so that may be the root of the issue. Any Help would be greatly appreciated, and I do understand that the case may be that it might just not work.
