    Big problem bugging me

Alright, I love Linux. But I also am a heavy gamer. PC, PS2, Wii, Original xbox(People still play online with these, Yeah baby ).

My computer hit a tiny snag...My Laptop.

    Made in 2003?

1 gig and half of ram.
    A fast cpu.
    A ATI Raedon 7500 M.
Oh yeah, A nice huge screen and it runs nicely.

OS: Ubuntu Maverick, Originally the netbook install but I changed the GUI to ubuntu...Netbook GUI is horrible.

-Now, what do I need help on? The gaming. Play JKA, Aka jedi knight jedi academy-20-18 FPS. i need around 60+? ...Even higher than that. Well,

I believe it is using open source drivers, because its not in the drivers utility, and I saw Xorg stuff in the Package manager.

Well, I asked a friend and he told me the open source are great, but my Video card is too old-And their is no support on the property for my drivers.

Well, If you got something old-Getting new software for old hardware is bad, right?

How do I install property drivers, the old ones? Im a newbie at linux to say, I have a little bit of experience with the GUI, And I got a reinstallation disc if anything goes bad.

-How do I, in instrurctions for a idiot/Newbie-Install property, or old property drivers for my Video card so I can get DECENT FPS? And play my Windows games...
    ---
Ty...Asked on Ubuntu forums, I made 3 posts-Waited 3 weeks, everyone ignores me and I even used search and found nuthing.

    ---
Or how to make the opensource work better as I heard people tweaked them when they DL them to make them work for windows games?

    Hello and Welcome!

Could you post the output of
    Code:
    lspci -nn | grep VGA
Also, how are you playing these games?
Are they Linux native? Or are you using Wine?

I'm seeing quite a few reports from folks mentioning the same frame rate issue for that card.
Perhaps you could launch the game from the terminal, adding the -opengl option.

    Have installed proprietary drivers?
    Post the output of this
    Code:
    grep -i driver /etc/X11/xorg.conf
It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

    Step 1: open package manager.
Step 2: Type in Xorg, click uninstall and all other stuff.
Step 3: Type in FLGRX, Install it all.
Step 4: Finished, nothing appeared in Device manager, so I reinstalled other.

Dependency error: It looked like FLGRX was installed, but because of a dependency it looked like it, but nothing was installed.

Error: No instanes of moduel FLGRX...So it won't install?
