    I don't know that you can install the Ubuntu Minimal CD on a virtual box.
    The Minimal CD will download packages from online archives at installation time instead of providing them on the install CD itself

    Look at Images « VirtualBoxes – Free VirtualBox® Images . Try installing Ubuntu Server instead...(?)
