Need a Reminder/alert in Ubuntu natty
Hi everyone,
I want to install a package which should work like, on a given time or date, it should pop up with remainder/alerts.
I installed Tomboy notes and tried some thing by goggling but end up with no luck.
Any help in this would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Wish I could help, but the only program that I know of that was like that is kalarm for KDE 3 and KDE 4. I currently use it, but then I'm running Klikit linux 8.04 KDE 3. kalarm works great. I don't know if there is anything like that for natty. Maybe someone knows of something that will work for you. Google kalarm and it will take you to the home page. It says nothing about working with natty or Ubuntu though.

I've used Kalarm also and found it to be very useful but, as indicated above it is for kde. I googled and found alarm-clock for gnome. Download page below but I would check the Ubuntu repositories through Synaptic first:

I think the Evolution mail program comes with an alarm also. Might want to check that if you intend to download it.

In Tomboy, there is 'Reminder' add-in.
You just type in a note 'remind <date> <time>' or so, and this note will pop up.
Another one is a 'RemiderFox' plug-in for Firefox.
This one is more GUI oriented than the one in Tomboy - no typing dates in.
I find this one particularly cool, as Firefox is _virtually_ always open.
