I'm doing a bit of research on the best way to perform network installs for multiple Ubuntu workstations.
What I want to have is a central server that can be used to install Ubuntu (or Edubuntu) remotely on netbooks/laptops without user intervention. An image format as in Ghost or Clonezilla is fine but a method to install small upgrades or install applications without a full image install would be preferred.
I've looked at Clonezilla,FAIs well as Puppet and Cobbler. All with do the job to some degree 0 and a combination of them may be required - but I'd like to hear from anyone who's already doing this.
It has to be an open source solution as there's no money for a commercial application
