There is no C partition in Ubuntu or Linux. Most Linux distributions give you options to install. Have you actually successfully installed Ubuntu? Did you select to overwrite or use the entire disk? Do you have another OS (windows) installed? If everything is downloading to the c partition are you doing this in windows? What version of Ubuntu have you installed? You need to post more details about what you did, how you installed and how and what you are trying to download and where you are downloading from.

Are you maybe using wine to "install" Windows apps in Ubuntu? If so, look in ~/.wine/drive_c/

i went into wine. and it showed that there is a c: drive but it wouldnt let me remove it. acts like its blocked from me messing with it.I want to get rid of c because i saw in the install of my program that it WAS going into a windows partition.i want to force my pc to install to z: ubuntu

Well, if you are using wine and installing apps thru wine, then you should leave the ~/.wine/ directory and all the sub-directory contents alone - i.e., let wine handle wine apps itself and install stuff in the default locations (unless you are a wine guru). Are you having trouble launching apps installed via wine? You should just be able to do something like:
But when I installed wine, i got a Bash script named /usr/bin/notepad that will do the above for me, so I just have to run:Code:wine ~/.wine/drive_c/windows/system32/notepad.exe
But I have to ask: is there truly a need to run your Windows app/apps via wine? Is there no Linux alternative for the given apps?Code:notepad
