I have been looking everywhere for how to use ubuntu i386 which i am struggling with, i have been sat here for about 3 and a half hours and all i have managed to do is download some files that i cant move because "access denied" appears or if i try to update or download an app i get this

Edit: i cant post the error because it is basically a load of "Failed to fetch" and then URL's which i cant post, if anyone knows what i am on about that would be great if not, if i can PM then i will send the error code

Sorry for wall of text. Basically i am using my brothers belkin usb internet because i cant figure out how to install anything and after all this time i am still unable to do anything. The main priorities are:

Installing a driver for my WMP54G Wireless adapter
and
Installing the latest flash player

If anyone could help me solve my problems that would be great, sorry if i seem noobish i have never done anything like this before and windows keeps failing on me so i need something new.

Hi again mike, thanks for the help so far, unfortunately i am not able to copy any documents to my home folder, i jsut get this msg

Error while moving "wl_apsta-3.130.20.0.o".
There was an error moving the file into /home.
Error moving file: Permission denied

Why would this be? im trying to learn but am finding it very difficult. Im assuming it is because i am not a superuser so cannot play around with the system settings?

That's odd. Try this: Check System->Hardware Drivers. Is the Broadcom B43 Driver in there?
Which version of Ubuntu are you using?
