Grub Installation?
I've got a computer I'm working on that I want to dual boot windows vista (which was already on there) and ubuntu.
I added ubuntu with clonezilla in another partition, and I don't get a boot menu when I start up the computer. The f12 boot menu shows only the hdd, not any particular OS.
My hdd partitions are as follows:
/dev/sda1 (DellUtility) fat16 - 47MiB
/dev/sda2 () extended - 10GiB
/dev/sda5 (RECOVERY) ntfs - 5GiB
/dev/sda6 (Swap) - linux-swap - 4.99GiB
unallocated - 4.2 (came about from gparted "rounding to cylinders")
/dev/sda3 (OS) ntfs - 110.78GiB
/dev/sda4 (blank... but before clonezilla worked its magic, was labeled "Ubuntu") ext4 - 112GiB
I have no idea how to install grub... so first I'm hoping I can get some pointers. Second, I really want to keep the current partition table, since I've already worked so much on it. Hopefully that's possible.
The only clear instructions I could find for installing grub is for putting it on a CD/floppy. That's not optimal though... because I'd rather not have a floppy running all the time just for my bootloader. I've read about installing it into the MBR, but that surpasses my current knowledge in the area.
Any tips/instructions? How can I boot back into ubuntu without grub?

Hello and Welcome!
So did you install GRUB at all when trying to setup your machine?
If not, then the easiest method would be to get your hands on a Ubuntu CD. Preferably one of the same version that you are trying to dual-boot with.
Then, take a look at the steps laid out here: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Gr...stalling_GRUB2Jay
