    Ubunto on a Compaq Presario?

For some reason, when I install Ubunto on my Compaq Presario the wifi light does not come on and my wifi recbution remains inoperable. Anyone else have the same problem? Even when I install the correct driver for the wifi device and it is confirmed to be working properly the wifi does not work at all. Perhaps Ubuntu is incompatible with this computer, which is really strange since ubuntu is so highly versatile.

    Code:
    sudo rfkill unblock all
I think it is soft blocked. Had the same issue with V3000CTO.

Sometimes there's a physical kill switch on the side of the laptop too, make sure that's not in the off position.

This may sound very simple but have you pressed the wifi button on the laptop? I have a Presario myself (Presario CQ61) and wifi works with my version of Ubunto. You may just have not pressed the wifi button, or have done at some point and not noticed.
