Open /usr/share/hunspell/ and open whichever dictionary you use with a text editor and add the words. The dictionary is a plain text file. You'll need to be root, of course, to edit files in /etc. Some text editors, such as gedit, will let you sort the file in alphabetic order, making it easier to add words to the end of the file and then get them in the right place. Without the sort feature, you need to manually put them in the right places.

Baja Oklahoma isn't quite the same place as Oklahoma.

But you're welcome anyway.

You have to set the default dictionary. I don't know what yours is set to. In LibreOffice writer, open Tools/Options/Language, and it will tell you which dictionary is the default. It should be English (USA) if that's what you want. You can change it if you have other dictionaries installed. To install more, use "Tools/Language/More dictionaries online". /usr/share/hunspell/en_US.dic should be the one used if you have English (USA) selected as the default.

Adding words to standard.dic
It is always good to pay attention to what you read and I actually put words at the 'bottom' of the list as you wrote the last time and things are working really well. I am up grading the English in the Tyndale Translation and having a good spell checker is definitely a blessing.
What is a Baja Oklahoma?

Baja Oklahoma is a slang term for Texas. It's not really one used by most Texans, but as we race with Mississippi and Oklahoma for the bottom of the barrel, it seems appropriate.
