sound won't work in wine....
i have a computer i set up for recording. Im not the most proficient at linux but i did manage to hookup my external soundcard to record with. I run a tascam us-122 , and i use reaper in wine. Well last nite something happened and the sound got muted somehow..i have checked the various mixers and none say that it is muted. When i look at the software and run it it shows volume levels reacting like their is sound but none came out.
Ive read a few of the tutorials on how to problem check this issue..but i think none are specific enough with said issue. do i have to reinstall a driver? reconfigure something? im a bit peeved because i have a deadline to get some music mixed and mastered and out to my vocalist and i cant right now.
thank you in advance

Try "padsp wine path-to-exe" if you're using a pulse audio backend. You might also try "padsp winecfg" and double check your audio configuration within wine.
If you cannot get wine to work or your audio mixing program, try audacity. It is a great program I've used many times for vocal mixing projects, primarily for IVR configurations for Asterisk.

thanx mang. That did the trick. I guess that the backend was'nt talking to the other one. plus the configuration got messed up some how too lol. I love linux to death and would never go back to windowe$ but man sometimes i get a headache fixing some of the harder things.
