Finger Print reader?
My new HP laptop (ProBook 4530s running Ubuntu 11.04 x64) has a built in fingerprint reader. I have Googled without much success. Mainly, I am wondering how to set it up.
Also, if/when I set it up, will I be able to simply swipe my finger in place of typing a password, like say when something wants root/sudo access or when logging into a website etc? Never used one, so it's new for me.
It appears that Ubuntu does recognize it. Here's what it shows when I use lsusb

I don't think you will be able to use the finger print reader for login purposes unless you can modify the sources of Ubuntu and add support of that

I tried getting mine on a Thinkpad to work, followed guides and stuff...
got it to function in every part, exept logging me in hehe
reinstalled eventually since the system got abit spookey.
