Debootstrap warning - Ubuntu Server 11.04

I am having this same issue.

Im installing in VMware Player and trying to install ubuntu-11.04-server-amd64.iso

I know nothing about this Ubuntu platform but trying to learn about it.

my main OS is windows XP Pro, i have managed to install XP Pro as a virtual disk and it perfectly fine.

but trying to install ububtu is getting frustrating with all these errors im encountering. the main one at the moment is the "debootstrap warning"

can anyone help me solve this please?

the Pc is a HP-Mini Netbook plenty of ram and space.

Is your host operating system 32-bit or 64-bit? What CPU does it use? You are trying to install the 64-bit ubuntu server in a VM, which means you have to

    1) be running a 64-bit host OS
    2) have a CPU with virtualization extensions

Note that I'm not sure that Atom processors have the virtualization extensions. The latest Atom chips can run 64-bit operating systems however.
Sometimes, real fast is almost as good as real time.
