    Question will linux run efficently on my desktop?

    ok basically my question is will ubuntu linux run well on my desktop computer, i've always wanted to try linux on my computer but i am worried it will run really slow or just be really terrible on my pc.

    my specs:

    cpu: Intel Pentium 4 2.4ghz
    R.A.M: 1.5GB
    Harddrive: 40GB
    Graphics card: Nvidea Geforce 6200 512mb
    current OS: Windows Xp Home edition SP3

    so i shouldnt have no problem like it slowing down really bad like vista?

    Nope. Linux does a more efficient job of memory allocation and RAM usage.
    You shouldn't have any issues, but try running a LiveCD first and see how it goes.
    LiveCDs run slower than a full install, so just bear that in mind.
