    linux server question...

Hey guys. I was finally able to get my linux home server online and I can connect to the ip address through a web browser anywhere just fine. However, from a terminal on a machine outside my apartment, I am not able to ping my ip address. Any thoughts as to why? thanks

Assuming you are connecting to the internet through a router, then you probably need to configure a tunnel through the router to the server, otherwise it is firewalled from the outside world.
