How to install the Adobe Flash plugin for Firefox

Guys, I tried to use the Adobe instructions for installing the plugin for Firefox but got nowhere. Terminals and terminal code is just not my thing. It never has been. The instructions told me to direct the terminal to the Download folder where the file was saved. I was able to get to that. But then it said this:

"Extract libflashplayer.so from the file you downloaded with the command tar -zxvf install_flash_player_10_linux.tar.gz."

I typed in: "tar -zxvf install_flash_player_10_linux.tar.gz". Then hit enter and it gave errors.

Here is the full instructions: [http]://support[.]mozilla.com/en-US/kb/installing-flash?redirectlocale=en-US&redirectslug=Installing+the+Flash+plugin

Remove the added brackets from the link to use the link.

    Hello and Welcome!

Things have changed a little in the latest versions of Ubuntu.
    What version are you running?

    BTW...
to find your version, just open a terminal and type this in:
    Code:
    lsb_release -a

I'm using the latest version, I suppose. I think it's called Ubuntu One. Can't find any kind of "About" file.

Nevertheless, I did Google the link below and surprising came up with an Adobe Flash install technique that is airhead simple.

    cyberciti.biz/faq/ubuntu-linux-how-to-install-flash-player-for-firefox/

This is what I copied in to the terminal: sudo apt-get install flashplugin-nonfree

    Good deal.
Like I said, there have been some recent changes... but Google is always your friend

Doesn't Adobe have an installer on there site? I'm pretty sure they have a .deb package for ubuntu that would be a lot easier.
