Reformated disk and nstaled ubuntui: No bootable devices
Hello there,
Recently, I formated the hard drive of my XPS M1330, and installed Ubuntu 11.04. Some settings or something must be wrong, because when I start the computer I get this error:
"No bootable devices strike f1 to retry boot f2 for setup utility press f5 to run onboard diagnostics".
The hard-drive shows up in bios, and I have no luck booting from the hard-drive. However booting from CD works.
Why am I having this problem, and what shall I do about it?
Thanks.MLast edited by kingoslo; 10-03-2011 at 11:07 AM.

Boot it, open a terminal window and type: sudo fdisk -l(Lower case Letter L in the command). This will output your drive/partition information which you should post. However booting from CD works
Since you made no mention of any other operating system, we can safely expect Ubuntu is it?
How old is the computer?
Did you compare your hardware to the minimums required for Ubuntu 11.04?
When you were given the option during the installation of installing the Grub bootloader, which option did you choose?
master boot record? partition? don't install?
