Restart with previously open documents after power failure

I use a desktop (no batteries) and there have been some blackouts recently lasting a few seconds in my area. When I restart my computer, KDE starts those files that were open when I logged out last time.

It is very annoying that KDE does not start those files that were open when my computer is 'unplugged'. Does anyone know a way of storing that information regularly, say every hour, by default? It would also be nice to have the commands used at the command line backed up too.

    I have Kubuntu 11.04.

    I managed to solve it!

If you click on System Settings -> Startup and Shutdown -> Session Management -> Restore manually saved session. Then click on Start Menu -> Leave -> Save Session in order to save to save a session manually. Previously, I had "Start with an empty session", but this does not work if the computer crashes due to a black out or some other failure, as a session is only saved during log out.
