I have gnome 3, XFCE, lxde and a open box session with the
Gnome 2 panel running... Wifi only works for gnome 3 and I can't figure out how to fix this..

P.s I've been trying to use ifup/ifdown to fix this..
In /etc/network/Interfaces
I have
Auto wlan0
Iface wlan0 inet dhcp
Wireless=essid lily
Wireless-mode= managed

When I ifdown wlan0 and then ifup it ifup stops at wireless mode and tells me its invalid no matter what I replace it with (master, managed)
Also I have wpa/ask on my router.. Do I need to throw those setting in there? Or are they able to be managed in gnome-nettools
