    panel lost icon

    Hello All
I am a newbie to Ubuntu so any instructions given should be as simple as possible.
I had deleted the upper panel and so far I found out how to get most of the launchers back. I have not been able to get back the username that is in the upper right hand corner. Can anyone tell me how to get it back.
    Thank you in advance.

Right click on the panel and select "Add to Panel"
Scroll down and select the Indicator applet.
That should contain the log off and name icons.

I selected the indicator applet and clicked add and it did add icons but didn't add the user name and shut down button. The shut down button can be added.
