    Overclocking xfce 11.04

    Hello!

My wife's netbook with windows 7 crashed and those stores wanted me to pay USD30 to reinstall this OS. I thought I already paid for it since it came pre-installed with the netbook and I even have a product key .

And so I found a way of doing it myself. But this time I double booted with ubuntu xfce 11.04. Am quite impressed so far.

A friend mentioned that I can even improve speed by overclocking video card and it sounds cool if I can do it in this netbook.

Has anyone have any experience in doing this please? I would appreciate any help (walkthrough) regarding this. I don't know where to start even so kindly be gentle with this "linux engineer' .

    Thank y'all!

Not sure personally how to do this, but in any case I would not recommend it. Netbooks already have heat dissipation issues, and overclocking the CPU or video will generate more heat. Can you spell "crispy critters"? I got an Acer netbook for my grandson's b'day this summer, and it already has overheating/shutdown problems requiring it be returned under warranty. Other than that, it has worked well for him, even in 64-bit mode.
Sometimes, real fast is almost as good as real time.
Just remember, Semper Gumbi - always be flexible!
