Mouse Freezing in Ubuntu 11.10
Hi All,
I'm having random (or apparently random) complete mouse freezes on my system running Ubuntu 11.10 (happens in KDE, Unity and Gnome-Shell). I still have keyboard functionality so is there a command I can run to "reset" the mouse (it's happening to both the trackpad and the USB mouse). Also, what package would any of you think would cause this so I can bug report it and try to help diagnose the issue. At this point I've only noticed 100% random, sometimes it's while watching a movie or show, sometimes it's nothing running at all and I'll just try to move the mouse and it's locked up. I am having the same problem on my laptop running Ubuntu 11.10 with
Unity. When the touch pad mouse freezes I am able to use a wireless
mouse that I have to control the mouse but the mouse will not respond
to the touch pad until I reboot again.I used Ubuntu 11.04 with Classic
desktop and I did not have this kind of problem.

Apparently we're not the only ones, here is a forum documenting it with bug reports and a "fix" which is just a command line to restart the mouse
