    Jagged Windows

This is a problem I've had since I began using Ubuntu 4 years ago. When I move a window, the border shows jagged, tearing effects. Unlike normal screen tearing though, the window has multiple tears. The only solution I've found, is if I have a light window border, I need to have a light wallpaper. Does any one else know how to fix this, or have you had the same problem?

    My system specs:
    HP-G60-445dx
    AMD Turion 64 X2 2.2GH
    Nvidia Geforce 8200m g

    XUbuntu 11.10 64bit
(This has happened to me with all Linux distributions.)

    Here is a screenshot:

I have an HP Presario, AMD, NVidia GE Force 4.... I believe you are using the wrong display driver. I had to manually load one from Debian repository for my specific driver problems. I also had border and shading problems. I can give you the steps but two issues. Mine was a from scratch load, and I am not sure about your repository.

Begin here, search your repository for NVidia. Find your specific driver. You can also use your package manager.

I was completely successful. I have an NVidia X-server application, and the NVidia splash screen. All such problems were rectified.

That certainly looks like a display driver problem, but you say you've seen this with all Linux distributions. In Ubuntu 11.10 are you using the default nouveau driver or have you installed the proprietary nvidia driver using Additional Drivers?

I have tried both, but I used Jockey (Additional Drivers), to install the proprietary drivers.

One more important detail... This only occurs when i drag windows, or watch videos, nothing else.
