moved files on the win7 partition from within ubuntu: broke win7

    Hi,

I have ubuntu 10.04 netbook dual booting with win7 home.

I have been using the system in this arrangement for a while

Up until now, I have been able to move files here and there in the windows partition from within ubuntu without problems.

Yesterday I moved & deleted some large files in the desktop folder of windows from within ubuntu - now win7 wont boot with the error:
explorer.exe "this application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000022)"
ctrl alt del --> task manager brings up the same error.
it just stays as a black screen with the cursor

In the past I remember reading about moving files too much without windows knowing causing problems, and I have tried for quite some time to find a solution to this problem without avail.

I suspect that win7 may have become corrupted and I wish to get the system back to working.

I have tried system restore & chkdsk but that didn't fix it.

    Thanks in advance.

Can you boot it in Safe Mode (win 7)? Here's a link at microsoft site dealing with the problem which might help.

the application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000022). - Microsoft Answers
