Angry SUDO acting and will not authenticate me for hardware drivers

I have Ubuntu 10.04 LTS - the Lucid Lynx.

    Screenshot-1.jpgScreenshot-2.jpg

I want to install Hardware Driver for a wireless adapter "Broadcom B43 wireless driver." I did sudo this and that. I did sudo visudo. I tried sudo -a for the /etc/login.conf but that's empty. I did similar with gksudo.

I am thinking of chmod or chown (later from Illumos.org forums {***worldwideweb***}.illumos.org/boards/3/topics/722).

This is crazy. I have to change passwords every execution of sudo and it is going around a endless loop.

And I still have the old bootstrap Debian (tj?) which had an infinite loop seeking what I think is my password for user id Ohio. And i have yaboot.conf and ofboot.b from there. That was insane.

    Hello and Welcome!

Could you give a little more detail on what you have done?
What steps did you go through to install the wireless drivers?
I did sudo this and that. I did sudo visudo. I tried sudo -a for the /etc/login.conf but that's empty. I did similar with gksudo.
What was 'this and that', and what were you trying to accomplish?

    Arrow

I have to change passwords every execution of sudo and it is going around a endless loop.

    I am in Hardware Drivers.

Then I click Activate button for the single entry shown.

Then it ask to enter my password.

Then it ask to change my password.

Then it ask a second time to validate change of my password.

btw, My user name is ajay.

And now the pictures I attached are relevant but they have unclear resolution after upload to this forum.

And in the PNG image one upload, Linux's screenshot tool clipped the dialog box's first sentence.

But what I think it said is
'... can not modify the system configuration.'
And it ends by saying "You may report this as a bug."

In the second PNG image upload a different result.
Upon clicking Activate button --> a dialog box "You are not authorized to perform this action."

In addition, I wanted to say, I did post what on Illumos.org on Oracle's Forums and the thread was closed or missing. (I will have to check l8r.) But imo I did not receive any answer there.

To re-solve this, I have been typing into terminal over and over. I am angry. So I have tried different things with sudo and gksudo. Non-different loop.
