    Welcome to LinuxForums!

First things first... and I hope I don't come across as rude. Please use punctuation.

    Now then...
What version did you have? What version did you upgrade to? And how did you perform the upgrade?
What do you mean when you said:
any choice to load will not load automaticially
Please post any and all error messages, in their entirety.
We may be able to help.
    Jay

ok sorry about the punctuation. i type all day at work in shorthand over a qualcom so i do not use punctuation. pertaining to my problem, i dont remember what version i had before. i do know it was the latest version about 4 months ago. the new version on the other hand is the latest release 11.10. how it was done was i logged on ubuntu upgrade center said there was a newer version so i did the full upgrade. it took a couple of hours then it said some of my programs would not work or were not supported by the new version. so i let it remove those programs then restarted. like i said in my previous post it worked fine for a couple of days. i did not make any changes after that other than download a new media player. vlc or something like that from the software center. that was the same day as the upgrade. after that it started freezing while doing things. then it would not even boot. it does not give error codes, it goes to bios screen like normal then to the operating system select screen, as i said before i have a dual system with windows 7. at wich point it would normally either load what i choose or automatically load ubuntu. but it freezes and does not let me choose what operating system to load, i let it set for a few minutes to see if it would automatically load ubuntu like it normally would but it did not i have also tried getting into the bios menu with the f keys and can not do that either. so i can not change the boot menu or any system settings. i cannot even get into safe mode to diagnose. thanks for any help you can give me.

Come on now, we're trying to help you here. You need to remember that we are just volunteers and are not paid or compensated for our time in any way, our only reward is to help you get up and running. Not everyone knows how to deal with this particular problem and sometimes it takes awhile for the right person to answer such a thread. Having trouble with one distro does not mean that Linux is "Crap" or that this site it any less suitable than any other site.
I'm closing this thread as I feel it has run it's course and turned into a rant, plus you are upset and there is nothing more we can do for you until you decide to calm down. If you disagree, please feel free to start a new thread and be as informative as you can.
You might consider checking the install medium and the downloaded .iso, they could be bad.
It could be a bad GRUB install, it could be a number of things.
