After five hours of trying to install Ubuntu 11.10, and some epic rage

I just want U11.10 on my winXP machine, and not have to deal with XP being fail.

Hi, Ninja. Welcome to the forums!

Annoyance and rage... yep. Been there a few times!
Could you give some details about what's got you worked up?
Are you trying to install Ubuntu and getting an error message? If so, when and where?
What steps have you taken, and how are you trying to install?
What type of computer is this? Can you give us any specs on it?Jay

As indicated above, it may be your hardware. A good first step is always to compare your hardware with the minimums required for whichever Linux distribution you want and that info is usually posted on their respective site.
Ubuntu is very popular and there is a lot of information available as well as tutorials on installing so it might be good to google and read a little. Millions world-wide are installing and using it!
If you have a specific problem, you might try posting exactly what happens rather than your vague post.
