    can't boot after installation

    Im having the same problem, here is what I have:
    ubuntu@ubuntu:~$ sudo mount /dev/sda1 /mnt
    ubuntu@ubuntu:~$ sudo grub-install --root-directory=/mnt /devsda
    /usr/sbin/grub-probe: error: cannot stat `/devsda'.
    ubuntu@ubuntu:~$ root@ubuntu
    root@ubuntu: command not found
    ubuntu@ubuntu:~$ sudo su
    root@ubuntu:/home/ubuntu# cat /etc/fstab
    overlayfs / overlayfs rw 0 0
    tmpfs /tmp tmpfs nosuid,nodev 0 0
    /dev/sda5 swap swap defaults 0 0
    root@ubuntu:/home/ubuntu# blkid
    /dev/loop0: TYPE="squashfs"
    /dev/loop1: UUID="e4e28aa2-4a40-40e9-8f24-c4d11fceb6c7" TYPE="ext3"

    command error

    Your command is incorrect. It is:
    sudo grub-install /dev/sda
