apt-get size mismatch error

Hi,

I am using an Ubuntu 10.04 machine 64-bit on an HP Probook 4420s, and I am working behind a proxy for Internet access. Recently whenever I am trying to install using apt-get it is showing Size mismatch error.

I tried various ways to get rid of it like:

apt-get clean
changing the source server etc

but nothing is working

help me in this issue .....
