I think we're closing in on the issue... I think apt-get is pointing itself at some older repos. Post the output of: Code: cat /etc/apt/sources.list...

    Ok thanks. I ran the line but nothing seemed to change - video still isn't loding

    I needed you to run that command, and post the output of it here.
    It doesn't exactly do anything. It will show what sources your computer is aiming at to retrieve software.
    So run it once more, and copy/paste the results back here.

    Okay, so your repos are pointed at Lucid, which is the 10.04 release.
    What version do you currently have installed?
    You can find out with this command:
